    Hi,

I am setting up a new site to share videos. The site is using Ultimate Member to secure Site and posts which contains text and video. To improve video, I was planning to use VideoPress (which performance and ease of use seems awsome) but I want to make sure that videos only gets available for members.

My main issue now is that when getting to page source code I can get direct URL to the video and using its URL open it without login in.

Is there a way to secure videos ?

    Thanks for your feedback.

    Hi @spknow,

There’s a setting that you can use to enable or disable the sharing menu on the VideoPress player for your videos. If you turn off sharing for your video, you can still use the video block or the shortcode block to add the video to your site.

Disabling sharing will stop anyone viewing your videos from seeing the option to share the video permalink or iframe embed code.

That said, turning off sharing for a video doesn’t mean that site users cannot download or share your videos. It just turns off the sharing menu on Jetpack VideoPress’ native video player.

As long as a video is being shared on the web and users know it exists, anyone persistent enough will find a way to download it, unfortunately.
