    Hi Adam

Secure mode has not been compulsory for a few months, as it was causing issues for some people.

You now have to activate secure mode from within intercom.io. You do this by clicking ‘Setup Guide’ (at the top right of the screen), then scrolling across to the ‘Secure Mode’ step.

Then you need to copy and paste the secret key from there into the Intercom settings screen in WordPress.

When a logged-in user next visits your site, secure mode will automatically be activated.

Let me know how that goes,
    Simon

Fantastic got it working. thanks for the clarification.

What’s the best way to add tags/segment code with your plugin?

    Great!

Tags and segments don’t require any changes on the WordPress end, they are something you create from within your Intercom dashboard.

This docs page gives a pretty good explanation.

How about if I wanted to add some custom attributes….https://docs.intercom.io/configuring-Intercom/Send-custom-user-attributes-to-Intercom

Where would I place the code?

See the ‘Can I add my own custom user attributes?’ section in the FAQ.
