The Section Block has an entrance animation option. However, on multiple sites, I have not been able to get these animations to actually work. The ‘Bounce In’ option animates while in the Gutenberg editor, but not live. All the other animation options don’t show at all, not even in the editor.

To test if this was a compatibility issue with my theme and other plugins, I tried using just the Getwid Base theme and Getwid Blocks on a tester site with no other installed plugins. Still not animating.

Is this a known issue? Is there a setting I need to change to enable the animations?

    Thanks!

Hi, thank you for contacting us. We managed to recreate that in the Gutenberg editor only the ‘Bounce In’ Animation Effect functions. We have notified our Getwid developers and in the next Getwid update this will be fixed.
However, note that on the page preview (live) all another animation effects function properly.
Please, make sure to update WordPress and Getwid to their latest versions. Also, pay attention to ‘Duration’ and ‘Delay, ms’ settings (they are under the ‘Animation Effect’ setting).

Hi, thanks for looking into it!

I looked up more about the Animate.css library by Daniel Eden that Getwid is using. Animate.css uses the prefers-reduced-motion media query to turn off the animations if users have set their system preferences to reduce motion. I changed my settings and the animations are working on the live versions now.

May be worth noting that users can turn off the animations without necessarily knowing it. Also, the animations not showing in the Gutenberg Editor preview might be related to the prefers-reduced-motion query.

The issue is fixed in 1.5.0

    Hello,

I’m having this same issue with the plugin version 1.6.2. The section block animation effects aren’t working in a fresh local WordPress installation.

    Am I missing something?

    Thank you!

    Hi @iurte,
I’ve tested the case you have described with 1.6.2 and 1.6.3 and effects are working correctly. Could you try switching themes and third-party installed plugins to find out what exactly causes an issue? Thanks.

    Hi Dmytro,

I’m sorry, I’ve finally been able to check that it’s working properly.

    Thank you very much.
