  • Hi,

I am not sure what went wrong with your setup.

Perhaps you will be able to resolve your issue after reading the following article and understanding how the widget zones work.

    Thank you

I have been using the Hueman theme for couple of years and the right sidebar/widget worked fine in previous versions. I am doing everything as instructed in the document you cited.

The issue remains that the widget displays in the right sidebar displays on pages created last year. Pages created today that appear to have the exact set up as the pages last year DO NOT display the right sidebar. Compare the 2016 pages with the 2017 pages and you will see.

The template is the same. The Primary and Secondary widget zones are the same. By all appearances, the only thing that is different between the 2016 and 2017 pages is the content.

I can post screenshots of the two set ups if you need confirmation that they appear to be the same. (Except they aren’t since they don’t display the same)

How is it that a page created under a previous version of the theme works in the current version, when one created under the current version does not?

    Hi,

In current version of Hueman theme, it’s possible to set a different layout for each page and a site wide layout for all pages.

You need to navigate to the page, before clicking on the customize button.
Go to Main body design -> Layout Options for the main content
and select the layout you want for that page.
You can use site wide option if you want layout to apply to every page.

    Please see screen-cast for details.

    Thanks. That did it.

I had set the sitewide layout to three columns and believed that would cover the entire site, since the term is “sitewide.” It’s also less intuitive than just changing the layout on the individual page in edit mode, as with the previous version. And it will be an extra step to have to “customize” each page individually, even though the theoretical default (sitewide) is three columns.

That said, thanks again. Problem solved.

    Hi,

    You are welcome!
Please mark this thread as resolved.

    Thank you.
