  • Because of time zone differences, I am just seeing this now.

I need to clarify what you are asking. I think you are asking how to get the Business Theme to display its Home page format somewhere other than the true WordPress Home page of the WordPress Site. If so, that would be a question for the support folks at graphpaperpress.com.

If you are actually selecting Business as the theme for Home in my plugin, then please let me know, as that should work.

Finally, if all else fails, one alternative may be to use a WordPress Network, where the Business theme is the true WordPress Home page of Site 2, using subfolder/subdirectory Sites.

As I say, I’m just a little confused by your wording, as to what you have actually done.

    Okay, so to clarify things,
My default and active theme is working perfectly but when I assign a page with the Business theme using the plugin, it displays as a post/blog format instead of a Homepage with sliders and carousel etc.

I tried with some other themes and it displays the similar results.

    Regards,
    hilmi

Thanks for the clarification! That helps a lot.

I can now do some testing, and get back to you as soon as I know something useful.

I was able to re-create your problem. And come up with a solution.

    1. WordPress Admin Appearance-Themes Activate the Business Theme
    2. my plugin’s Settings, Advanced Settings tab, set the Theme for Everything to ASK Me
    3. you will still need the Home setting to the Business theme as you had before

Not sure why that method is required. Let me know if it works, as I was only able to test Business with Twenty Fourteen.

Thanks for your patience on this one. I do hope that this solves your problem.

    Thanks for your reply,

I tried setting ASK Me as Theme for Everything and Home Theme as Business but that still didn’t work, my homepage is displayed as a normal post format with articles, sidebars, and no CSS.

What I wanted to work is for example:-
    1. https://www.example.com/ (show the ASK Theme Homepage Template)

    2. https://www.example.com/landing (show a different Homepage Theme for logged out users)

It’s kinda like users will first enter https://www.example.com/landing and later redirected.

    Appreciate your fast response

Since that is different that what I was testing yesterday, I will do more testing and respond soon.

Thank you for your patience. Your last post arrived after I had gone to sleep last night.

To ensure we are both talking about the same thing, the most obvious difference that I see between the two ways the Page is displayed is the Calendar (current month).

To get the Calendar to appear on a Page other than Home, I did the following:

    1. WordPress Admin Appearance-Themes Activate the Business Theme
    2. my plugin’s Settings, Advanced Settings tab, set the Theme for Everything to ASK Me
    3. my plugin’s Settings, Settings tab, “For An Individual Page, Post or other non-Admin page; or a group of pages, specified by URL Prefix, optionally with Asterisk(s)” Section, enter https://www.example.com/landing as the URL, Business as the Theme, and select URL (not Prefix or Asterisk) in the radio buttons.

Please let me know if I misunderstood you.

It’s still the same display as the previous method but I managed to get a workaround by installing another WordPress with only the Business Theme inside the installation with the ASK Me theme. This way the database can still be shared.

    Thanks for your assistance jonradio.

I am very glad to hear that you have found a satisfactory solution to your problem.
