Second site in a sub-directory not redirecting

    Hello,
    I have two sites installed on a server. One is in the root dir and one is in public_html/a-dir/

    I have the Simple 301 Redirects plugin installed on both sites. On the main site in public_html the redirects work. But in the sub directory site they are throwing a 304 error and not redirecting. This results in WordPress throwing out a 404 error. Any thoughts on what could be causing this?
