I have a special website with additional domain also pointed to it that only has 1 page and no menu. it is and must be like my2domain.xyz/ and not my2domain.xyz/2page/

I’m detecting the domain in theme and then loading it’s page id content and it works well.
But the problem is that Yoast will think that we are in the my1domain.xyz and gets title and other settings from that page’s settings.

How can I tell wp or yoast that now we are on the page id 999 even if the slug is / which is same as the slug of my1domain.xyz homepage

    Hi @matssparky

We’re not quite sure we understand how your website is structured or what it is exactly with the Yoast SEO plugin you are trying to achieve.

Is this a standard website or is it set up as a multisite with subfolders or subdomains?

Could you attach some screenshots (using snipboard.io or a similar website to upload screenshots and share some links here) and provide us with more details on exactly what it is that is currently appearing in the Yoast SEO plugin for your 2 websites, and what sort of output you would like for it to show?

    thank you for your answer
in this website i cannot use multisite or even polylang
it’s just a one website with one page having additional domain pointed to same wordpress installation

could I do something in php theme that when we detect this second domain being used ant then set some global like wp_page_id = 999 so that yoast would load that page’s settings. or how does the yoast determine what page are we viewing ?

As much as we hate to say it, your question goes beyond the technical expertise of me and my colleagues on the Yoast support team. This means we can’t give you a solid answer to your question.

But we don’t want to leave you empty-handed either, that’s why we’ve created our developer portal at developer.yoast.com. This has proven to be useful to many developers in the past and hopefully will serve you well too.

Sorry, we can’t be of more help here.
