second author's template

  • Is it possible to have two author′s templates?

    I have a list of users and when visitor clicks on a user name (user 1) it takes them to the public profile of that person using author.php.

    Is it possible to have a second list of users and when visitor clicks on, again same user 1 to take the visitor to the profile but using author-2.php

    Is that even possible?
