• Is there a way to make WordPress’s search feature link directly to a particular question/answer pair including the anchor tag?

Right now it only links to the overall faq page, and doesn’t open the accordion div for the faq in question.

I’m using the Relevanssi search plugin; there didn’t seem to be a clean way to search FAQs without a plugin.

Do you have a best-practice way of handling this?

  • Hello @olliejones,

We have the built in feature for the FAQ plugin that generates and lets users to the specific question that is accessible through the link icon in for each question.

Clicking the link does open up the accordion in the plugin taking the users to the specific question via the link.

In case of the search the default WordPress search feature does not search in the Custom Post Types within the website. You should however be able to search the “Faq” custom post type with the help of custom Search plugin by choosing the post type specific search. Upon successful configuration you should be able to search the FAQs with right keywords.

Please verify the settings that you have provided for the custom search plugin and let us know if you need any further assistance further providing your website URL.

    Hope this Helps,

    Best Regards !!
