Hi there, love the plugin, thanks.

We’re having a bit of trouble with the geolocation search. The plugin is set to default at the UK. However, there are shops all over the world. So for example, there are shops in Australia.

I understand how it works in that, once it has loaded the default (UK), the default search radius will be whatever it is set, around the default location. Is that correct? So for example, 50 miles radius around the UK. If the user sets their location, then the 50 mile radius will be set from their location.

If I search for, say, Australia, it won’t find Australia as that country is not within 50 miles of the default location. Likewise, let’s say a user in Australia has not allowed the browser to find their location – the UK will display as default. When they search for Australia they’ll encounter the same problem.

Is there a better way of getting around this than using a huge radius?

    Thanks!

If you set the map region on the settings to the UK, and tick the checkbox that shows up after that, then it will never find any locations in Australia.

Also the search always starts from the center, and the center in Australia is in the middle of nowhere, so unless you set a default search radius that’s quite big, it will never show any locations.

Searching by country if therefor a bad idea since the locations will mostly fall outside of the search radius, unless you set a really large one.

The best option to make this work I think, is to create different categories for each country, set a huge search radius ( but hide the option ). So when someone then searches for a location in the Australia category it will likely always show something.
