Searching failing when used for inserting links

  • Found a problem I can’t for the life of me work out. Have the plugin installed and the site is indexed. Search results appear to be working just fine for users hitting the site and when searching in the admin area when looking for a post.

    Where it is failing is when I go to insert a link in a post and attempt to lookup a search term for a specific post. With the plugin active it ends with no search terms found. Soon as I disable the plugin it beings working but only with the default WordPress search.

    Anybody come across this before?

    Relevanssi doesn’t work with that search – never has – but it shouldn’t interfere with it, either. I’m not sure why that would happen.

    I was afraid you’d say something like that Mikko. Will have to dig around on the site and see what else might be causing an interference. Just had it pinned as a relevanssi problem because soon as the plugin is removed the search box works again.

    I just checked, and the linking search works just fine on my sites running Relevanssi in admin. Perhaps this is some kind of plugin conflict between Relevanssi and another plugin?

    Thanks Mikko, I’ve got the plugin installed on a bunch of other sites with no drama so the problem is definately local to this one site. All the plugins installed are all fairly generic and commonly used but I’ll do some extra digging just in case. The theme was my other potential candidate for the issue as dealing with the developer has been well painful. Appreciate you having looked into this for me.
