• Does WordPress have any such plugin that allows for very large searchable databases? I am a volunteer at an organization that holds meetings all over the world. We want to incorporate that meeting list on our website and allow people to search it location, zipcode, country etc… Can someone maybe point me in the right direction? Or does it have to be a custom database? If so can you recommend one that works well with WordPress? Any help is greatly appreciated.

  • All WP content is in a database that is searchable. The best approach would depend on whether you want a way to find upcoming events or an “archive” of meetings already held.
If there is meeting content that you want people to find when they search, you could organize your meetings as posts/categories with tags to improve search accuracy.
You could also add meta information in custom fields and use a custom field search plug in (like WP Custom Search) to narrow down the results.

Thank you for the reply. I will try the plugin.
