    Hi there,

I was wondering if it is possible to search within a very long drop down filter? Is this something that will be added in the future?

I was also wondering if it is possible to add a search field which will only show results from a certain taxonomy.

Thanks for your time and I hope to hear a reply soon.

    Hi?@heijtec2

Go to the filter set settings and choose the needed filter, then click “more options” You can find the “Terms Search” option so if you enable it, it will look like this – https://prnt.sc/46AIhTorxGaB in our demo – https://demo.filtereverything.pro/product-category/clothing/women/

As to the second one, the search field that will only show results from a certain taxonomy? How do you imagine this functionality working? As we do not have an actual idea, since you choose the filter terms and use the search bar they are working together. Just choose the needed category from filter terms and use the search bar to make a search only with that taxonomy.

    Hi @fesupportteam

Thanks for your very quick reply!

Is it correct that the ‘Terms search’ option is only available for the ‘Lables list’ and not for the ‘Dropdown’? Or do we need the pro version for that option?

If it is possible to search within a dropdown that would be the solution for both.

You need to turn on this option – https://prnt.sc/v4CX3vvkInZG from filters -> settings -> experimental

Thanks again for your quick reply and your solution! It’s working well now.

I have some other questions for you:
    – Would it be possible to combine two taxonomies into 1 filter field?
    – Is it possible to turn off the search field for certain filters? When there are just a few options the search is not needed.

Thanks again for your time and support!

    Hi @heijtec2

No, not really, for dropdowns you can hide it only with the CSS as it is using the select2 library for that which is already including it.

So you can inspect the needed dropdown and they all have unique IDs on them, so you can apply the CSS to hide it for the needed ones only.

    Hi @fesupportteam Victor,

This could be a workable workaround, thanks.

Are you also able to look at the following question: Would it be possible to combine two taxonomies into 1 filter field?

    Thanks again!

    Hi @heijtec2

No, it is not possible to combine two taxonomies under one filter.

    Hi @fesupportteam

You are always quick, thanks haha.

Is this a thing that could be added to your filter? We are willing to support it financially.

Not in the near future, as this will require rewriting the core functionality of the plugin, but such functionality may appear in the future.
