Search with username of member using profile search widget

  • I want to search members with their username using search widget,I had also gone through previous related posts for similar topics but I didn’t found any relevant results. Can you also explain when using screen name in form fields, what does it actually compare with, first_name, user_nicename or display_name, because even though first name, display name are present its not showing any results.
    bbPress Version 2.5.8, BuddyPress Version 2.3.3

    Hi Binayk,

    BP Profile Search can only search BuddyPress profile fields, therefore searching usernames is not supported.

    The Name form field searches the corresponding BP profile field, usually it’s the first of the BP profile fields. When searching for names, make sure that the Text Search Mode in the Edit Form page is set to LIKE.
