Search with custom field doesn’t work

Dear all,
I’m running UM 2.4.2 and got some several customs fields. And at least one of them causes problems with the search function.
Our Members Page works normal for admin and subscribers. So both user roles can see the full list of members. But if subscribers use the search with a custom field they do not see all or none of the members. As an admin I can see every member.
I’ve checked all settings twice. Subscribers do have access to all user role profiles. But I found out that if I activate in the members list the search for meta fields this one which causes the problems will only be shown to the admin but not to the subscribers.
Any idea what’s wrong?

PS: Is it possible that when I created the custom fields that the rights to search for it have been only given to the admin (subscribers do see the custom fields on the Member Page)?
If yes – how can I check this? And how can I amend it??
