search widget override

  • Hi,

    I am new to word press, I am finding it easy to use except for the search function.

    1. I have a custom search made that is located in searchform.php

    2. In the WordPress admin section under presentation I am using the Sidebar Arrangement. I have removed the search widget from this Sidebar Arrangement thinking that it would then use my searchform.php located in my theme. Because I have an include function on the side bar for the searchform.php

    3. The outcome is that no search field shows up on my site at all.

    Any suggestions on how to sort this out so that I can use the searchform.php?
