Search widget horizontal dropdown options covered

i tried the following as recommend in another thread but still nothing:#es_search #search_vertical{ background:#f0f0f0; overflow:visible; padding:20px 20px 57px; position:relative; margin-bottom:30px; }
i have also tried with auto and adding !important
overflow:auto !important;
still can’t get it to show the cut off drop down menu
