Search widget does not show after upgrading to 2.9.2

  • Search widget does not show.
    It did before I updated the site to 2.9.2
    the search widget is placed in the field “sidebar” in my admin and is active, but it is just not appearing on the page!

    The other widgets are working.

    What can I do? If some code is needed, please tell me exactly where it has to go…

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin? Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress?

    – increasing your available memory?
