Search widget

I am using the Customizr theme. This is my first attempt at creating a WordPress site. A search button widget was included on my site but it doesn’t work as I would expect. It finds text that has the search word I type, but it doesn’t take me to the page that has that text. I am not using any blogs but it returns what looks like a blog entry. Where did the Search widget come from and can I change it somehow to find pages? Is there another plug in I should download to do the kind of Search I need?
