Search Subdirectory / Separate WordPress Install

I have one URL, but two wordpress installs in two directories (not multi-site). They share the same database, but with different prefixes. The search feature works fine on the main URL. But the search (native or woocommerce search) does not product results in the subdirectory.
So search on this works fine: https://grandmothersbuttons.com
Search on this site: https://grandmothersbuttons.com/wholesale – DOES NOT WORK
The search string looks right: https://www.grandmothersbuttons.com/wholesale/?s=abalone&submit=search
Any thoughts?
