    Hi @coholm

I hope you are doing good today.

While the Defender doesn’t have such a feature at the moment, what you could try is to block the IPs that are spamming the search results. If your “search log” contains IPs, from where those search queries come from, use the Defender “IP Banning” feature to blacklist all those IPs.

I will forward also your query to our devs to consider adding it in the future.

    Kind Regards,
    Kris

Thanks for your feedback. The bot that executes the search queries uses different IP on EVERY single search. Banning the IPs would not prevent further searches.

    Hi @coholm

That’s a tough situation if it’s using different IP each time, I’m sorry to hear that.

Another workaround for that might be blocking entire region then. There’s an option (“Defender -> Firewall -> IP Banning” page -> “Locations” section) where you can set geolocation-based lockouts o e.g. block entire China. I know it might be an overkill (and impossible if you are getting real visitor from China) but it might be worth considering too if the bot traffic from there is so bad. Such lockout can also be disabled later at any given moment in time.

    Kind regards,
    Adam
