Search Results Template

  • What exactly IS the “Search Results Template” that is referred to so often regarding this plugin? (and on Mikko’s site)

    Is it the specific file search.php in my theme? OR is this something that can be specified somewhere in in the plugin config?

    Also, does this plugin simply hook into the existing search widget that I place in a sidebar? I do not see a new widget for it so am not really sure that this plugin is actually working, eventhough it is active and it created a bunch of database tables.

    Relevanssi uses the default widget and the search results template from your theme. It’s usually search.php, but some themes do it differently.

    Relevanssi works completely under the hood. It intercepts the queries and provides results, and it’s up to the theme to display those results to users somehow.
