search results page in twentyten theme

  • The twentyten theme search results page (I presume uses search.php) shows the results with ‘posted on, by whoever’ and at the end ‘Leave a comment’.
    I don’t want these to appear;I can’t find anything to edit on search.php.
    Can anyone point me in the right direction please?

  • I believe it is in loop.php

    generally loop.php, but any edits in there would also show on other pages.

    as the search.php template already suggests, you could make a loop-search.php;
    start by making a copy of loop.php and saving it under the name loop-search.php; then make the edits in there – i.e. remove all that you dont want to show.
