Doing some tests with the free version.

The search results function effectively on the shop page, displaying the categories, price range, and other attributes as set in the sidebar filter (as shown in Graph 1).

However, when searching for keywords that might not correspond to categories displayed on the shop page, the search results contain no sidebar filters (as depicted in Graph 3). I presume that the sidebar, as shown in Graph 2 that includes categories and search attributes, should also appear in these search results.

I’m uncertain whether this issue was present before. Is there anything to do with the settings? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi,

Please try the following – open plugin settings page and scroll down to Search Results Page section. Inside it try to change the value of ‘Change query hook’ option. https://prnt.sc/1VDNycj5aEZ8

Thank you for your response. Unfortunately, the issue persists. After conducting some tests, I believe that the problem is likely caused by the filter plugin.

Please tell me – what filtering plugin you are using?

I am using Advanced AJAX Product Filters for WooCommerce by BeRocket.

Retrieving categories and price ranges from the search results and displaying them on the sidebar within the database doesn’t seem difficult. However, it could be challenging with plugins from different designers.

One more question – what plugins versions of AWS plugin and BeRocket filtering plugin you are currently using?

    (@wonderwooman)

Currently, I’m using the free versions of both plugins on the testing site. I don’t mind upgrading to the pro version if necessary, but this is the only extra function I need for testing purposes. Is the ability to retrieve categories, prices, or attributes from search results included in the pro version? I might know how to query within the database to achieve this, but I don’t have much web design skills. ??

Thanks, I understand. But please tell me the version number of these both plugins.

About retrieving categories, prices, or attributes – yes, all these are possible.

My apologies for the oversight. I used some code snippets to hide specific categories from appearing on the shop page, but I overlooked this. After removing the code snippets, the search results now display correctly on the shop page as I hoped.

However, all categories, including those from separate category pages, are now visible on the shop page. Is there a simple solution to address both concerns?

Please ignore the above question since it is solved. I appreciate some more help with search result issues.

For example, when I search for “case,” the Ajax search correctly displays four categories. https://snipboard.io/OBDv17.jpg

However, only 2 categories show up in the results. https://snipboard.io/5im2Od.jpg

Obviously the other 2 categories should be in the list.

Titles, categories, and content are included in the search source in the settings. I’ve done caching in the plugin and the server side, and reindexed the table, also in filter settings .

This seems odd because all other searches seem fine. For instance, when I searched for “cover,” the results displayed as expected. https://snipboard.io/NmaP2X.jpg

    Did I miss anything again?

About categories problem – categories inside ajax and categories filters inside search page are a bit different ones. Second ones displayed depending on your current products search results. Do these products contain those missing categories?

    Thread Starter wonderwooman

    (@wonderwooman)

Products within the missing categories do not appear in the search results. However, after adding the keyword “case” to the product content within the missing category, it does show up in the results. It appears that the category names are excluded from the search results.

For now, my issues have been resolved. I appreciate your assistance.

    Hi,

Please try the following – open the plugin settings page and scroll to the ‘Search results page’ section. Inside it change the value of ‘Change query hook’ option and check search results one more time.

If this doesn’t help – please tell me what plugin you are using for creating those shop filters.

    Regards
