    Hey!

We are using TranslatePress for our website and shop. Products are also translated, but it would be nice, when a customer, while being in one language, by using Search, could find the products if he enters the name of the product in second language.

    Example.
    Language01: Product name is “Aaaa”.
    Language02: Product name is “Bbbb”.

If within Language01 and User searches for “Bbbb”, he should be able to find “Aaaa”, which is the same product.

    Where do I fix that?

    Hello there,

    Thank you for reaching us!

Unfortunately, this is not how the search feature should work on secondary languages and if you want to find a product in the translated version, you should use the translated name for it to be found.

If there’s anything else, please let me know!

    Kind Regards,

Thank you for a reply! Yeah…

I have an idea, tell me if it’s a valid one, please.
Tags are not translated, but search do not find them [products with them] either. Can we do something about it? I mean… if we get so every Language sees the tag and takes it as a result?

Agh, cannot edit the previous one.

I am attaching the screen. I added manually the translation which is the same, as in original language. English search should find it now when searching “me?s”, shouldn’t it?
What to do, to make it to find it.
I am not afraid of manual labour ??

    Hello there,

You can check our custom search solution which should work properly.

Try to implement this on your website and see if this is working:https://translatepress.com/docs/developers/implementing-a-custom-search-solution/

    Let me know!
