Search results highlighted on every page?

I’m looking for a way to have the search results highlighting for a particular search persist when the user clicks through the search results page onto another post or page.

In other words, when a user searches for “foo” and is taken to the results page where “foo” is highlighted, when they click to read the entire contents of that post or page, “foo” is still highlighted.

Is there a practical way to do this? Thanks.
