Search results always showing even after i deleted my search.php?

Today i was developing a wordpress template and finished almost all parts. Then i looked on to search result section. I added few classes, and divs to make it according to my template. But none of them affecting the result. Then i realized that editing search.php is not making any changes on my search results !!!. To confirm, i deleted search.php. But my site is still showing search results. What to do ? From which file this results are showing up ?
