    Hi,

I use the Twenty Thirteen theme. When I enter a search phrase into the search field in the menu bar I do NOT get results for it when I search for the text in a TablePress table field. Is there a way that also the TablePress table fields get searched?

Thanks a lot for your answer.

    Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

TablePress does integrate into the WordPress search, so I assume that something is interfering here. Are you maybe using any other plugins that could influence the search?

Otherwise, can you maybe provide some details and an example, i.e. a link to the page with the table and the keywords that you used but for which nothing is found?

    Regards,

    Thanks Tobias!

Indeed, when I deactivate the plugin “Search Everything” it works. But it shows ONLY the table name, not the specific row in the table. Is this like it is intended?

And is there a way to use the search function WITH the “Search Everything” plugin activated?

    Hi,

ok, that could explain it. I don’t really know how Search Everything affects the actual database query, so I can’t tell what changes would be necessary in it. Sorry.

The search results are displayed in the same way as if the search word would be found in the regular content (i.e. text) of a post/page. That is done by your theme. Your theme likely only shows the page name on the search results page, so that you can click it to see the full page.
Showing only the specific row is not possible, as that would be against the full table structure.

In my case the search displays the title and the first 4 lines of the page.

    Hi,

ok, that means that it probably strips Shortcodes, maybe because it uses the the_excerpt() function in the search theme file.

There’s nothing that I can do here in TablePress, I’m afraid.
