hi, I have a problem about “Search”
When I try to input the same word in the search field while using an smartphone ( like iPhone ), the result is different with desktop.

    screenshot on iPhone:

The result on a phone is nothing, but searching on the desktop works perfect. I don’t know what’s wrong with this problem….

I’m sorry about my English.. I’m from Taiwan and hope you can understand what I mean.

    Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

That’s indeed very weird. I’m not sure why that is happening.
Can you please post a link to the page with the table where this is not working, and also some example search terms that I can test this with?
My assumption is that this is related to the different handling of Unicode characters in the JS implementations of the desktop browser and the mobile browser.

    Regards,
    Tobias

    Thank you for your reply.
    Here is my test page:
    https://www.hdlulu.com/2011/12/06/test_table

I tried to input number to search, and it’s no problem.
But the Chinese characters are not working while using iPhone.

    Thank you!

    Hi,

    thanks for the link!

I can’t spot anything wrong on the page, and unfortunately I don’t have an iPhone to test ??
So, my assumption is that there’s some difference between the characters in the table and the characters that the iPhone keyboard “types”, somehow…
As this affects the DataTables JavaScript library, you could try to ask in the support forums at https://www.datatables.net/ Maybe the people there can help (as they have far more knowledge about this than I have.)

    Thank you for your suggestion!
That testing link will be maintained until the problem is solved.
I think maybe someday you can test by an other people’s iPhone.
This problem is not a big issue at all, and I can just tell my readers that do not search in Chinese characters while using an iPhone.

I hope someday you will get a chance to test that issue on iPhone ( or iPad ). If you find out something or any solution, please notice me by email, Twitter or any way you can.

    Hi,

Ok, I’ll try to keep this in mind. But even debugging on the iPhone will be tricky, as there are no nice developer tools ??
But I hope that this can be resolved in the future.

    Best wishes,
    Tobias

P.S.: In case you haven’t, please rate TablePress here in the plugin directory. Thanks!
