    Hi People,
    I’m a newbie on this forum and don’t know if anybody can help me with the following challenge?
    I store pictures on the ftp server of my host (jpeg format). The pictures and folder have names that can be searched. My biggest problem is to search the specific location on the ftp server. Does anybody know if this is possible with NExxgen search? or any other search plugin?

    Thanks a lot.
    Paul

    Hi @brune,

    NextGen doesn’t have a search feature that would allow searching by the image name in a directory that isn’t a NextGen Gallery. This means that in order to be able to search an image by the file name you will need to:

    1) Make sure that the pictures folder is located in wp-content folder in order to be able to upload the images to NextGen;
    2) Go to “Gallery -> Add Gallery/Images” and select “Import Folder” tab in order to see all the folders that are located in “wp-content”
    3) Select your folder with the images, set a gallery name and hit the “Import Folder” button.

    This will create a gallery with all the images from that specific folder.
    To search for an image’s name, please access “Gallery -> Manage Galleries” https://drive.google.com/file/d/1x28Zaxjz_FRZ5EfArdg373RS519s3Hun/view?usp=drivesdk

    I need to mention here that NextGen doesn’t have any front end search support.

    Hope this helps,
    Mihai

    Because it has been a month or more since your last reply, I am going to mark this as resolved as I assume you have found a solution. Please feel free to reply again if you still have questions.

    Thanks!
