Thanks for the positive feedback and for your question. Thanks as well for doing the careful testing and posting all the screen shots with your results; very helpful.

You have encountered a limitation of the “Terms Search” function for which I have no obvious solution. The “Terms Search” function applies the phrase and term filters to each of the selected taxonomies separately, e.g., it is filtering on “2002” in the Submitter Name taxonomy. The function has no way of knowing if phrases or terms exist in a specific taxonomy if more than one taxonomy is selected.

For shortcodes such as [mla_gallery] you can use a tax_query to make your intent clear. For the Media/Assistant admin submenu I can suggest a workaround. Make one of your two taxonomies the “List Filter” so its terms appear in the dropdown control at the top of the submenu table. Then do a terms search on the other taxonomy. The List Filter and Terms Search criteria will be applied with “AND” and give you the results you seek.

I hope the workaround I outlined is enough to give you what you seek. I am marking this topic resolved, but please update it if you have problems or further questions regarding the suggested solution. Thanks for your interest in the plugin.
