Search locations goes to US rather than staying in the UK

  • Hi,

    This appears to be a sudden issue, but on the site if we search for Birmingham, the map shows Birmingham Alabama, which has no locations in the database at all, rather than showing the four UK locations in Birmingham in England.

    If I search for “Birmingham UK” then it works as expected.

    I’ve deactivated all the plugins, cleared settings and reconfigured but that made no difference.

    We’ve never had the Enhanced Search add on installed, as that seems to have the features to restrict the search to the UK, which we’ve not needed until now.

    Any ideas?

    P.S. Google is USA -centric, yes we know, we aren’t the center of the world. But Google makes best guess and seems to start here or based on the number of searches ,( its a popularity contest )if no additional info provided
