For the past 2 days we have had an issue with ajax search not working properly and when we disable the google analytics for woocommerce plugin, it starts to work again. The issue started occurring on the 2nd and this plugin updated on the 2nd. May be a total co-incidence but seems strange. Have you had any issues reported / can think of why it may have broken the search?

Just to clarify, did you already have a chance to revert to Google Analytics for WooCommerce version 2.1.3 and see if the issue persists, or otherwise?

It can be found, and downloaded from this page.

A different way to revert would be by utilizing the WP Rollback plugin.

We have just rolled back and unfortunately the same thing is happening. I have output the contents of $_POST[‘keyword’] and with your plugin disabled, we just get the search term, however with it enabled we get the string below – it appears that analytics code and browser parameters are being added to the search term and hence no results are produced. I am assuming there is an error in the code or things are not being escaped properly and hence its breaking the site. Welcome your thoughts.

I checked your website and at first, I could see the products showed correctly. However, when I reloaded the page, I received the message “Sorry it appears we don’t have any products that match your search”. This is indeed strange and it doesn’t seem to be related to our plugin. It appears that the problem could be with the plugin you’ve used to add this filter or product lists. It would be best to reach out to the theme or plugin developers you used to build this product listing for further assistance.

The best way to determine this is to:
- Temporarily switch your theme to Storefront or Twenty Twenty-Four
- Disable all plugins except for WooCommerce, and Google Analytics for WooCommerce
- Repeat the action that is causing the problem
If you’re not seeing the same problem after completing the conflict test, then you know the problem was with the plugins and/or theme you deactivated. To figure out which plugin is causing the problem, reactivate your other plugins one by one, testing after each, until you find the one causing conflict. @shameemreza No the issue isnt resolved. Currently the plugin is disabled to ensure the website runs normally. I could enable it so you can see the fault but clearly I dont want to leave the website in this state for long as customer would be affected. Please could you confirm receipt of this and suggest a possible date / time when you would be able to investigate and I will ensure the plugin is enabled just before you test. Thanks

While we are not able to set up a specific date and time to see this, we here to do everything we can to help you troubleshoot this.

Can you please create a staging site where you can leave everything active and also run some tests? This way it won’t affect your website.

You can ask your host if they offer this service, or you can use WP Staging for quickly spinning up a new test site.
