Search is Broken

  • Hello,

    For the last year or so Search function on my site doesn’t work. When searching under Keywords it delivers results completely unrelated to what I’m searching for and linking to Author Archives doesn’t work the way it’s supposed to as well. Delivers articles that are completely unrelated to the Author Posts.

    Is this a known issue or something only related with my site? Is there a fix for it? I’m not entirely sure Search EVER worked properly, so I can’t tell you if a particular WP version broke it.

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Ten theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.
