Hi, awesome job on the plugin. Also soon translated to Swedish (thanks to me ;)). I have noticed one thing that I need to solve one way or another. When we at my company write documentation we use Documentor (WordPress Plugin). Documentor has it’s own search engine within each document however Basepress is not able to index the content of these pages which makes it difficult to search abstract.

So is it possible to add other indexes to Basepress?

Or is there another plugin instead of documentor which can be indexed?
The reason we use Documentor is to have ready made templates which we can copy and have a basic structure.

  • Hi Onnan,

First of all thanks for your comment and the translation! That’s nice!

I have never used Documentor but I checked the plugin video tutorial to get an idea of what it does.

If I have understood well, Documentor uses shortcodes to add content to pages.
If you add a shortcode to an article that article is basicly until the moment it is rendered in the front end. It doesn’t contain any content in the database record.
BasePress doesn’t build an index but it actually modifies WordPress main query limiting the query to its custom post type and making some improvements to it.

I am afraid there is no way we can change that to include Documentor content.
