Search ignores default sort option

  • Hello I have a woocommerce store.
    I have default sorting on “by average rating”, I also use the “WooCommerce Extra Product Sorting Options” plugin.

    When I open my all products page it works fine, when I open a tag it does as well. But when I use the search it sorts the products by recent although it shows “by average rating” on screen. To actually sort by average rating I have to switch it to something else and back again. This is very bad for my customer experience in a store with 3000 items recent doesn’t get you very far.

    Please help me.
