I am building some affiliate links to try, and it seems to be just what I needed. I am wondering, however, when I try the search feature on any webpage of my site, it immediately goes to the affiate linked page (off my site) rather than list articles on my site with the search term. What do I need to do to have Search return my site pages rather than suddenly ending up on my affiliate site (in this case, books on Amazon’s Kindle store).

Are you talking about the search widget on the frontend? What happens exactly when you do that?

Could you give me a link to your website? I don’t know how our plugin could influence the search functionality.

Yes, the little search magnifying glass on the frontend, upper right corner.

Lots of articles, but here’s an example – I have a couple articles about writing. Both (all) my articles, actually) now have an affiliate link in them, a different link inside nearly every article, only a couple of repeats).

If you type in “writer” in the search field, for instance, it goes to a regular search results page. But if you type in “writing” it goes to my Amazon link’s product page on their site, instead of my site (where I have an article titled partially “The Truth About Writing….”

Is it because of the Title in Affiliate link set up? Or the slug name maybe?

Really strange. So this only happens if you have Easy Affiliate Links enabled? It doesn’t occur with our plugin disabled?

If so, could you try switching to a default theme (like Twenty Fifteen) and see if you have the same issue then?

Correct, it does not occur when the plugin is disabled, only when it’s active.

I really don’t want to switch themes, the site is live and I just initiated a new round of traffic to it.

If you use a plugin like Theme Test Drive you can switch the theme for administrators only without interfering with any other visitors.

It seems to be a problem with the built-in WP search function. Not sure how or why.

I downloaded a different search plugin that simply enhances the built-in function (https://ajaydsouza.com/wordpress/plugins/better-search/) and it seems to be working fine now.

    Thanks for your help!

I don’t have the same issue with the default WP search so it’s really a strange issue.
Anyway, glad to hear you were able to solve it!

Let me know if you need anything else,
