I was wondering if any expansion into a search box and submit button (or if you wanna get fancy some kind of ajax method to auto populate filenames on key entry, though not sure what’s accessible programmatically) would be coming? It seems as though you have this functionality (just a search box and button) in the backend through the admin configuration in wordpress when searching to link a folder or document, so this would be great to have exposed to users.

Thanks for the suggestion, but it’s not something we have in the pipeline I’m afraid.

It could be useful as a way to use Drive from within WordPress, but unless it is somehow restricted to documents that are already embedded in the WordPress site, my feeling is that such a feature wouldn’t really integrate very closely with WordPress. Linking out to Drive to perform the search seems to make more sense to me – you’re probably going to have to do that anyway to view/edit the file once you’ve found it, so maybe it makes sense to keep the search functionality within Drive itself.

I hope this thinking makes some sense, but of course I will still add your suggestion to our list for more consideration in the future.

If you have further thoughts, especially if you think I’ve misunderstood, please email: [email protected].

Thanks again for making the suggestion – I really appreciate it.

    Regards,

    Dan
