• Hello fellow WP users,

I’m having some trouble getting my search function working properly, essentially when I enter a product title instead of simply checking the tags and title it checks the product description resulting in tons of irrelevant search results

    Example:
I want to search for “Carbolastex WBI” so I use the live search, entering the first part of the word “carbo”
Unfortunately instead of showing this product and others with a similar name or tag, it gives me results for everything that mentions carbo/carbonation/carbonated.

  • Install Relevanssi which allows you to set the search criteria, e.g. only search titles.

That would be great, though I don’t know how to change my theme’s default search function, Relevanssi doesn’t seem to replace it automatically, the results are the same. ??

Relevanssi should replace it, it hooks into the search function and changes the way it searches the data, you may need to speak to your theme developers support.
