Search Function / Permalink Problem

When I do a search on a topic, for example I’ll use the phrase “direct selling” I get a URL returned in the following format…
https://www.21stcenturynetworker.com/wordpress/index.php?s=direct+selling&search=Search
When I click on the “older entries” I get a 404 error with this url…
https://www.21stcenturynetworker.com/wordpress/page/2/?s=direct+selling&search=Search
If I remove the “wordpress” directory, it works just fine…
https://www.21stcenturynetworker.com/page/2/?s=direct+selling&search=SearchDon’t know what file to edit to correct this. I know this MUST be easy but I just don’t have the experience to decipher the info or search the problem on google.
Any help would be much appreciated.
P.S. Yes, when I set my permalinks to default, it works fine. I don’t want default permalinks though for obvious reasons…
