I have enabled the search form to appear above the calendar in the options, but it doesn’t. So I added it with the shortcode, but now they aren’t synced. When you search by anything the calendar just refreshes. I have set the correct page under Page > Events/Archives, but still nothing. Any ideas what I’m doing wrong?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hello,

The EM Search Form only works when you’re using Events List. The Search form won’t show on Calendar mode. One of the reason why it’s not applicable on Calendar is the output. (ie: You searched for an Event and that event is 3 months from now or there’s 5 recurrence of that event. Users won’t know what are the dates unless they press back and forth on Calendar. )

I’m sorry this still isn’t working. How can I make the default view a list view? It seems to default to the calendar view. When I make a new page with the [events_list} shortcode and the [event_search_form] shortcode, the search just goes back to the calendar view page. I tried changing the page in Page > Events/Archives, but then it just replaces my shortcodes with the calendar again.

Can I send you a login to help me trouble shoot?

    Hello,

Under Events > Settings > Pages > Events List/Archives > Display calendar in events page? = NO

If you have WP Full Calendar Enabled:
Events > Settings > Full Calendar Options > Override calendar on events page? = NO

What I would suggest is to set you Events Page to Events List format and enable the Event Search Form on options. Then you could just create a new page with Calendar Display and use the shortcode to display events as Calendar. You could use WP FullCalendar for a better styling of Calendar.
