Search form doesn’t work

I created myself a new theme and added the search form to a separate page (instead of sidebar), but it doesn’t work. When I click the search button, it loads again the original page, no results. I have in my theme folder search.php and searchform.php, and have

<?php include (TEMPLATEPATH . ‘/searchform.php’); ?>

in my page to show up the form… what’s missing??
