    Hi,
I set up a test site using Ultimate Members. I have created 1 test user apart from myself, who is the administrator.

For some reason, only people who are logged in can use the search filters, but not if you are logged out. I removed the requirement that you have to be logged in to use the search, ie, where it says “User Roles that can use filters”, I didn’t tick any of the requirements, but any searches still return the custom error statement I set.

Only when I log in, the search filters work.
    Please help.
    Thanks

    Hi @stephunique

Could you please provide a screenshot of your Member Directory settings?

Thanks for replying Champ Camba, how exactly do I post a screenshot here? There is no function that allows me to do this here.

You can upload it to Imgur and provide the link for it.

Hi everyone. Using a borrowed computer so can’t add the full page printscreen extension to Chrome browser, so the page has more than one screenshots.

Here is the link to the screenshots that show the settings of my Ultimate Members members directories settings:

My question, just a reminder, is that the search does not work if I am logged out.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi @stephunique

Could you please confirm what version of UM you’re using on your site? Is it the latest version 2.1.12?

Hi, I had a look, yes it is version 2.1.12, says so in my dashboard.

In fact, I just tested it again and I have another issue/correction: the search results only show up when I am logged in as the administrator, no results show when I am logged in as any other member with less power than an administrator. If I log in as a test user, there are also no results at all.

Just wanted to post an update:

I discovered that the search results only work if I am logged in as the ADMINISTRATOR, and the search results do not work at all if I log in as a test user or if I am logged out.

Wondering if anyone has an update to this?

    Hi @stephunique

Could you please provide a screenshot of the settings in the WP Admin > UM > User Roles > Subscriber or the role that cannot see the search result?

    Regards,

    Hi everyone.
Here is a full page screenshot of the settings for the “members”. I named it “members” instead of Subscriber.

I tried to install everything from scratch on a different website, that seems to work. Not sure if another plugin is stopping it from working. It would be very tedious to delete every setting and start over.

    Hi @stephunique

In the role settings, see “Profile Access”. Could you please try selecting all roles and see if the issue still occurs?

    Sorry for the late reply.
    Is this what you mean?

Still can’t see filter any members.

    Update:
I deleted the entire website and started over. Problem persists so it might not be due to a plugin clash. Any non-admin member is still unable to use the search function.

    Hi @stephunique

    Sorry for the late response.

When you made a fresh install, did you keep the member directory settings default so just to see if the issue still occurs?

Feel free to re-open this thread by changing the status to “Not Resolved” so we can get back to you.

    Hi UM team,
I am unable to proceed with these tests as suddenly the plugin is not sending activation emails or even a screen that says “please click on the activation link in your email” upon front end user sign up. Please see my enquiry in this link. Thank you.
