• This is one of the strangest bugs I’ve ever seen…

If I do a Relevanssi search for “a phrase in quotes” it works fine.
If I do a Relevanssi search for “blue” (one word in quotes) it works fine.
But if I do a Relevanssi search for “George” (the word George in quotes) or “any phrase with the word George in it” in quotes, I get a 403 forbidden error!

If I search for George without the quotes, it works fine.

But it also happens if I search for the phrase “any phrase with the word in it”.

I must have something configured wrong. Is there an anti-George setting? ??

Yeah, I actually hate people called “George”. =)

That’s an odd problem, sure. How large is your site (how many posts in Relevanssi index)? How common word is George? This probably has to do with that.

A no-quotes search for George turns up 3 posts. So it’s not very common.

Hmm… I know there’s a problem with phrase searches, but it’s caused by having large numbers of matches. With just 129 posts in the database overall, that can’t be the case.

Anyway, that wouldn’t probably end up with 403 error, either.

I don’t know – it’s very hard to say anything without being able to debug on-site. Would that be possible?
