Search Field not used if taxonomy field used

Hi I just found this plugin today and so far it’s great. I did find however that if I use the taxonomy field in conjunction with the search field that the search field is ignored. The search query is correctly added to the URL; however, the keyword is ignored. In the example below, the category URL is loaded since I used the category dropdown but the keyword “brownell” doesn’t have any impact on the results. I’ve tried all kinds of combinations without success. The keyword “testing” shouldn’t return any results but all posts in the category are returned.
