Search Exclude critical error with Tribe Events

As soon as the Search Exclude plugin was updated to 2.1.8 the list of event (Tribe Events) was reduced to one. All the other events (700+) are now not visible. I deactivated the Search Exclude plugin and all is fine again – EXCEPT, of course, all the posts I want to exclude from search can now be searched for.
