Search events

  • Hi,

    I’m looking for the possibility to add a search field. I was hoping to add a default search plugin searching only events. But that does not seem to work.

    Any suggestions?

    Hi,

    With the WP Extended Search plugin you can create a custom search form, for events only.

    With a shortcode you can add this form anywhere on your site.

    While testing the search plugin, I notice that my plugin has an issue with the layout of events in search results (event details are missing), will fix this asap.

    I installed WP Extended Search, configured it but not any results. Maybe you can sent me a screen dump from your settings.

    Hi Paul,

    Hope this helps:
    In dashboard go to: Extended Search > Search Settings
    “Setting Name”: Create New
    Give it a name (such as Event search)
    Click blue button Publish
    New page opens and you will see the shortcode to display form at page
    Click on blue button “Configure Search Setting”
    “Select Post Types”: events (remove other)
    This is optional > “Select Meta Key Names”: select custom fields such as location
    Save page
