    I am using the shortcode [tickets] in a page… I see a search ticket field, but nothing happens? I type something in, but no submit button, no real time returns? Don’t understand what this field is for?

    Here is a screenshot:

    Thanks!

    Hi:

    Under normal circumstances there is a search field that searches on the ticket title. This is useful if you have a large number of tickets. But it sounds like something is getting in way of your search. You can try the following trouble-shooting techniques:

    1. Check to see if there are any javascript errors in your browser console. Javascript errors will most likely stop the search script from running properly.
    2. Temporarily switch your theme to one of the standard WP themes (2016/17/15). See if the search works. If not, try step 3 below
    3. Turn off other WordPress plugins just in case one of them is getting in the way. If the search works then turn on each plugin one by one until search stops working. The one you turned on before the search stopped working is the one the is conflicting.

    Thanks.

    Wow, thanks for the quick response. I have noticed on the default ticket page, there is no status drop down or search box?

    Hi:

    It definitely sounds like you have a conflict with a plugin or theme. The troubleshooting steps in the prior message will help you narrow down what’s getting in the way.

    Let us know what you find!

    Turned off all plugins and swtiched to wordpress standard theme, and still have same problems. Using PHP 7.1.8, whatever JQuery ships standard with WP or your plugin… Not a showstopper as of yet, but would like to resolve it.

    using jquery.js?ver=1.12.4

    Any other info you can offer would be great. And again, thanks for the lightening quick response. About to buy your email in addon.

    Hmmm….the only thing I can think of is that the might be some old javascript still cached in your browser so lets try clearing that.

    While you still have those plugins and themes turned off, can you also try a different browser if you have one installed?

    Its very unusual to have a problem with all other plugins already turned off. I wonder if your host is doing some sort of caching that is preventing the search results from being returned. (Some hosts cache everything – even when users are logged in. Maybe they’re caching that page which might be messing things up. But that would not affect the dropdowns.)
