Search Console not processing child sitemaps

    My main sitemap (https://giftamr.com/sitemap_index.xml) has been showing as successfully processed in google search console for a couple of weeks now. However, the Total discovered URLs is still showing as 0.

    I believe this is because yoast seperates the sitemaps into a parent child structure, and the ‘child’ sitemaps haven’t been processed.

    I have seen lots of other posts from people having the same issue but no good answers.

    So my question is, why isn’t GSC processing those child sitemaps? Should I just disable the Yoast sitemap and create my own?

    @smothman22 We’re sorry to hear you are experiencing this issue on your site.

    The message of ‘Total Discovered URLs 0’ that you see in Google Search Console just means that the URLs contained in the sitemap were already found by Googlebot by other means, instead of via the sitemap. For example, Googlebot may have found the URLs from internal links or possibly from links on another site.
