I’m getting an “unnamed item” breadcrumb error in google search console on a url for a media file, which was attached to a page at one point, and isn’t now, but I don’t want to delete it. Under the schema it says, “Page Type: Default for Media(web page) and article type: default for media(none). I guess I can give it a name, but I’m curious about why this happens.

You mentioned that Google Search Console shows an “unnamed item” warning on the media file URL. This might be confusing you. Could you please show us some example URLs where the issue occurs so that we can take a look at them?

    Hi @zignorp,

Is your issue identical (or very similar) to the one posted here?

If yes, then make sure you’re using Yoast SEO V16.8 or higher to fix your issue.

If you are using Yoast SEO V17.2 (latest revision as of this date) and still experiencing the issue, then I would simply perform a clean-install of Yoast SEO (export your settings and back up your website first), clear all cache (from your theme, cache plugin, and CDN), then resubmit your sitemap to both Google and Bing. Wait a few days. That should do it.

    Hope this helps a bit.

    Cheers!
